Nano-enable sustainable materials for green-economy.

Green Economy often utilizes green processes to benefit humanity in an equitable and inclusive way that does not jeopardize ecosystem’s sustainability. The economy employs technology and innovation to transform our community into a value-based and innovation- driven economy. It capitalizes our strengths in biological diversity and cultural richness. However, the development of sustainable materials is yet to encounters several technical milestones involving product’s quality, process efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, among others. How can nanotechnology help the economy? Understanding materials’ building blocks, their structure-property relationship at small scale could shed light into the materials development opportunity. In this session, broad aspects of nano-enable sustainable materials for green-economy are presented and discussed by invited speakers from academia and industries. Covered topics include functional material design, syntheses, fabrications, surface modifications, nano-dispersion, assembly of membrane, thin-film and fibers, etc.

The objectives of this seminar include:

  1. To set the opportunity for scientific discussion, exchange of ideas and network development for current advances in sustainable materials among researchers across the full range of national and international engagement.
  2. To set a collaborative platform among international partners towards research collaboration, technology demonstration, technology localization, or joint investment.
  3. To develop nano-enabled sustainable material technology to supports the green economy.
