Our center studies natural products and chemical compounds as potential therapeutic agents for diseases, such as cancer. Certain herbal products from Thai medicinal plants, protein hydrolysates, and synthetic compounds are currently being investigated for their anti-cancer, anti-inflammation, and anti-obesity properties by integrating proteomics, metabolomics, and biochemical analysis. We preliminarily screen medicinal functions of herbs and active compounds using biological assay and high content analysis. Molecular and cellular responses are further investigated through mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics. To detect molecular targets, transcriptomics strategy can be applied using unique probes of NanoString technology.
