Abstract
Aschersonia narathiwatensis was isolated from whitefly nymphs (Hemiptera) collected at Hala-Bala Wildlife Sanctuary in Narathiwat Province, Thailand. This species has circular flattened-discoid brown to dark brown stroma and non-fragmenting ascospores. A comparison of macro-and microscopic characters among similar species is given. Phylogenetic analyses of nuclear ribosomal large subunit (LSU) and translation elongation factor 1-alpha (TEF-1 alpha) support recognizing this fungus as a new species.
