Pathum Thani, Thailand – July 18, 2024 – The Rail and Modern Transport Research Group (RMT), part of the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), recently held a technical seminar on “Principles of Design and Manufacturing of Rail Fasteners” at Thailand Science Park in Pathum Thani.
This seminar aimed to provide participants from the Thai rail industry, research and development sector, and standardization organizations with an in-depth understanding of rail fastener design and manufacturing. Key topics covered included:
- Mechanical properties and mechanisms of rail fasteners
- Railroad track structure
- Material behavior under heat treatment processes
This event is the first of four technical seminars on metal parts planned under the project “Technological Capability Enhancement of Local Industries and Product Standardization Initiative in Accordance with the High-speed Railway Project.” Funded by the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund (LMCSF) 2023, this two-year project aims to enhance the technological capabilities and standardization of local industries.
