Failure Analysis and Reliability Engineering Research Team (FARE), together with Thermal Spray Research Team (TST), jointly organized a training course on the topic of “Metallurgical Failure Analysis and Prevention” The course focused on damage caused by erosion and wear, along with preventive measures using thermal spray coating techniques. The event was held at National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), and was attended by participants from various companies in the manufacturing and maintenance sectors.
The training content was designed to enable participants to apply failure analysis results to prevent recurrence of similar issues. It also provided guidance on selecting appropriate coating materials, taking into consideration environmental conditions and service conditions. This is to ensure that components treated with thermal spray coating are durable and suitable for industrial operating conditions.
