National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and Green Standard (GSD) together with Asia Carbon Institute (ACI), a carbon standards organization from Singapore. Prepare to cooperate and create a neutral carbon standard for ASEAN Along with carbon reduction technology and a common process for calculating ASEAN's carbon neutrality with the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO is ready to provide support. Under the honorary advisor, Mr. Wichai Thongtang, who has experience in creating collaboration and building on the success of many organizations to achieve the goals of the ASEAN region.

16 May 2024 - Bangkok – Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation (MHESI) by the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) together with Green Standard Company Limited (GSD) and Asia Carbon Institute (ACI) jointly signed a memorandum of understanding to prepare and create “ASEAN Central Carbon Standards” in accordance with the specific characteristics of the region with its natural diversity and unique ecosystem. There are different characteristics of agriculture and livestock, diversity of specific industrial sectors and a tourism sector and a public health sector that have special characteristics unique to the region.       This requires its own decarbonization technology in a regionally unique way.

 

On this occasion, Professor Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, President of NSTDA together with Mr. John Lo, President and Founder of ACI, and Dr. Kongkiat Suriye, Executive Chairman of GSD jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). NSTDA is the main leader in driving science and technology to standardize the process of reducing central carbon in ASEAN. ACI will collaborate with Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO to support various industrial carbon reduction projects in the region level under the exchange of experiences in technology development and expansion into commercial production of Green Standard (GSD).

The signing ceremony was honored by Mr. Wichai Thongtang and Dr. Pongpanu Svetarundra, Chairman Board of Director of the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) to witness and a consultant in such cooperation for the benefit of the ASEAN region in the future.
