Dr. Edwin Liu, President of Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) led a delegation to visit NSTDA and meet with NSTDA President Prof. Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong at Thailand Science Park on 3 August 2023.
ITRI is one of Asia's leading applied technology research institutions. Renowned for its innovation-driven approach, ITRI plays a vital role in bolstering Taiwan's industrial competitiveness and advancing technological development on a global scale. The purpose of this visit was to strengthen ties with NSTDA and explore new avenues for collaboration, with a special focus on technology development on net zero and smart farming through knowledge exchange and joint activities.
During the meeting, representatives from both ITRI and NSTDA had an opportunity to present and introduce their respective organizations, providing a comprehensive understanding of their visions, policies, strategies, current research, and capabilities. Presentations were made by representatives from various departments of ITRI, including the Green Energy and Environment Research Laboratories, the Material and Chemical Research Laboratories, and Central Region Campus, as well as ENTEC-NSTDA.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to fostering long-term cooperation, with a goal to initiate joint activities, including renewing the memorandum of understanding on the Promotion of Technology and Innovation Development between ITRI and NSTDA. At the end of the visit, the delegation from ITRI was given a tour to NSTDA's cutting-edge laboratory and research facilities dedicating to carbon capture and utilization technology (CCU) at NANOTEC-NSTDA to gain an insight into NSTDA’s pioneering projects and technology developments.
