On July 13, 2023, Prof. Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, President of NSTDA, and Mr. Frédéric Le Du, Senior Vice President Asia of Hutchinson, representing Hutchinson Japan, signed a mutual non-disclosure agreement for research collaboration in the field of rail and modern transport. The signing ceremony was attended by executives from NSTDA and Hutchinson, including Dr. Ekkarut Viyanit, Director of the Rail and Modern Transport Research Center (RMT) at NSTDA, and Mr. Alexandre Orsolini, Director of Hutchinson Hiroshima Kasei Sealing (Thailand).
This agreement will facilitate research collaboration between RMT and Hutchinson Japan, aiming to advance technology and innovation in rail and modern transport. Leveraging Hutchinson's sensor technology, the two parties will initially undertake two projects. The first project aims to investigate the correlation between vibration force and changes in mechanical behavior, while the second project focuses on deploying a sensor array network to monitor structural health based on elastic waves with the goal of preventing train structure failures.
