French Ambassador to Thailand, His Excellency Thierry Mathou paid a visit to NSTDA Headquarters at Thailand Science Park on 19 January 2023. He was accompanied by Dr. Xavier Grosmaitre, Attaché for Scientific and Higher Education Cooperation, Ms. Wanpen Sirapat, Scholarship Coordinator, and Ms. Jutaporn Kanjanakuha, Assistant of the Attaché for Scientific and Higher Education Cooperation.
On hand to welcome the delegation were NSTDA President Professor Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, and NSTDA Executive VP Dr. Uracha Ruktanonchai. The delegation was briefed on NSTDA activities aiming to utilize science and technology to support the national development by performing and supporting R&D, transferring technology to end-users and manpower development in science and technology. The visit was completed with a facility tour to NSTDA Supercomputing Centre (ThaiSC) and National Biobank of Thailand (NBT) courtesy of ThaiSC Director Dr. Piyawut Srichaikul, Dr. Manaschai Kunaseth, and NBT Director Dr. Sissades Tongsima.
During the discussion, the French delegation expressed interest to strengthen S&T collaboration between France and Thailand. Both parties agreed to further dialogue to identify areas of potential collaboration.
