On April 11, 2025, the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) hosted its first collaborative meeting with the Institute of Science Tokyo, a newly established institution formed through the merger of Tokyo Institute of Technology and Tokyo Medical and Dental University in October 2024. The meeting brought together executive leaders from both organizations to explore strategic avenues for collaboration.
Discussions highlighted several key areas of mutual interest, including artificial intelligence (AI), disaster management, medical engineering, and environmental research, along with a shared ambition to develop an international academic program. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation through the TAIST–Science Tokyo framework, with plans to restructure the existing AITO program into a dedicated, AI-focused curriculum. The meeting concluded with a strong sense of momentum, setting the stage for a promising, innovation-driven partnership between Thailand and Japan in science and technology.
