On March 27, 2025, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the opening ceremony of the NSTDA Annual Conference 2025 (NAC2025) at Thailand Science Park, Pathum Thani. Held from March 26 to 28, this year’s conference is organized under the theme "AI-Driven Science and Technology for a Sustainable Thailand," highlighting advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and its role in driving national progress across key sectors, including the economy, society, environment, and education.
Following the opening ceremony, Her Royal Highness also officiated the awards ceremony, honoring 21 outstanding individuals and teams for their contributions to science, technology, and innovation. Among the awardees were winners of the NSTDA Micro-Mouse contest, robotics competitions, software development challenges, and the Young Scientist Project.
As part of the Royal Exhibition, NSTDA presented several ongoing research initiatives under the Royal Patronage, emphasizing technological advancements that address societal needs. These include:
- National AI Strategy – Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, this initiative accelerates AI adoption across industries to enhance Thailand’s economic competitiveness and quality of life.
- STEM Education for Special Needs – The KidBright AI platform expands AI learning opportunities for students with disabilities, fostering inclusive education.
- Smart Agriculture for Inmates – A collaboration with the Department of Corrections that trains inmates in smart farming technologies to support rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
- Medical Innovations – NSTDA’s Assistive Technology and Medical Devices Center (A-MED) introduced MobiiScan, a portable 3D X-ray system for craniofacial abnormalities, along with genomic medicine programs to advance precision healthcare.
- Hydrogen Economy – NSTDA’s Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) is driving research in hydrogen energy to support Thailand’s transition to sustainable energy under the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy model.
NAC2025 serves as a premier platform for researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore the transformative impact of AI on sustainable development. Featuring over 35 expert-led seminars and an interactive exhibition, the event underscores NSTDA’s commitment to leveraging science and technology for a better future.
