Regional Training on Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development in Tropical Asia

Background
Biodiversity conservation is crucial for sustainable development and for addressing major challenges such as climate change. Collaboration and partnership, among and within countries and regions, is of great significance to the conservation-related issues.
The Fifteenth Conference of Parties meeting (COP15) to be held from 25 April to 8 May 2022, will be one of the most important conferences on biodiversity in a decade. It will outline what countries need to do, individually and collectively, in the next decade and beyond, to set humanity on course for achieving the CBD’s overall vision of “living in harmony with nature” by 2050. As a warming-up event, ANSO together with Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Southeast Asia Biodiversity Research institute (SEABRI), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Initiative for Collective Conservation in Chinese Botanical Gardens (ICCBG), The International Bamboo and Rattan Organization (INBAR), The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), as well as The Centre for Mountain Futures (CMF) coorganizes a training workshop on Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development in Tropical Asia on April 18-23, 2022. 1) The workshop will be organized in a hybrid manner (both online and on site).
2) There is no attending fee for this workshop. However, if you apply to attend the on-site meeting, you have to pay for your own transportation and accommodation fee.
