University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) is the first university established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and a member of the China 9 Consortium consisting of the top 9 universities in China (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C9_League). It ranks 57 globally in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. USTC provides both degree and non-degree programs for international students.
USTC offers 36 undergraduate programs, 96 master’s programs and 98 doctoral programs in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering Science, Electronic Information, Computer Science, Earth and Space Sciences, Environmental Science, etc. in 23 schools and institutes. Among them, some master’s programs and all doctoral programs can be conducted in English.
The non-degree programs include research internship, course study, and winter/summer camp, which last from one to twelve months. The latest winter camp will be held in the coming January, providing international students with the opportunity to experience an excellent learning environment and communicate face to face with faculty members at one of China’s most prestigious universities. Outstanding applications will be offered USTC Fellowship.
USTC provides various financial aid and competitive scholarships to international students. Excellent applicants may apply for USTC Fellowship, which include tuition waiver, accommodation subsidy, comprehensive medical insurance and living stipend (up to 12000 USD/year for doctoral students, up to 5200 USD/year for master’s students and up to 4200 USD/year for undergraduate students).
