Food Innopolis, a food innovation hub of NSTDA, held a press conference on 26 March 2019, announcing an establishment of Future Food Lab and Sensory Testing Lab in collaboration with its partners. Kanjana-Opas, NSTDA Vice President and CEO of Food Innopolis, in the presences of alliances of Food Innopolis, including Mr. Chamlong Termglinchan, CEO of SunGroup, Prof. Pornsak Sriamornsak and Asst. Prof. Bundit Innawong, both from Silpakorn University.
Future Food Lab is a collaboration between Food Innopolis and Silpakorn University, offering services of lab space and expertise ranging from product development to market analysis to food industry, especially SMEs. The lab has been in operation for a period of time, and has serviced more than 20 companies so far. To enhance its research ecosystem, Future Food Lab is adding Food Ingredient Library into its features. Food Ingredient Library is a new resource for researchers looking for information and samples of food ingredients for research trial. This is the first library established by Food Innopolis and will serve as a model for other types of library to follow, such as Material Library (a resource on food packaging) and OEM Library (a database of OEM service providers). Asst. Prof. Bundit Innawong of Silpakorn University is now serving as Manager of Future Food Lab.
Sensory Testing Lab is co-founded by SunGroup and Food Innopolis, with the consultation of experts from the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University. Following international standard methods, the lab will play a key role in the product development process of the company. SunGroup also plans to offer service on sensory evaluation to clients outside the company in the future.
