NSTDA and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi embark on a collaboration to strengthen graduate programs in science and technology in order to produce highly skilled workforce to supply to industry and drive the nation’s economy. Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul, NSTDA President and Dr. Suvit Tia, KMUTT President, participated in the MOU signing ceremony along with executives from both parties on 18 February 2019.

This 5-year MOU will facilitate joint implementation of programs and activities that will enhance the capability of graduate students such as organizing international scientific conferences, establishing international exchange, developing new PhD programs in emerging areas coupled with intensive research, promoting the exploitation of technologies and innovations in public and private sectors, and fostering partnership with local and international entities in manpower development. The joint program also includes the provision of PhD scholarships. The skilled workforce developed under this program will support the growing demand of industry boosted by the establishment of Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi).

NSTDA and KMUTT have been an alliance in research since 1986, especially in the fields of biochemicals & biofuels, transportation, automation and biopharmaceuticals. This partnership in human resource development will reinforce the collaboration in existing fields and open up new
