NSTDA and the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote research and development in railway technology in order to enhance the competitiveness of rail system industry in Thailand.
The MOU was signed by NSTDA President Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul and SRT Acting Governor Worrawut Mala on 7 January 2019. NSTDA’s research and development in railway technology encompasses design and manufacturing, as well as testing and quality assurance of parts and components used in rail system. Under this collaboration, NSTDA will employ its expertise to support the Thai-Chinese high-speed railway project, focusing on the testing and quality assurance of parts and components used in rail system, and the preparation and training of manpower for the maintenance and repair center.
In addition, NSTDA has been implementing projects to provide technical support and consultancy to manufacturers of rail system parts and components and promote product testing and certification to boost the competitiveness of this industry in Thailand.
