Global food production is faced with challenges. While demand for food is rising due to population growth, climate change is lowering the production capacity. Labor shortage has been a pain point in Thai agricultural and manufacturing sectors lately and the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated this problem as foreign labors are unable to enter the country. Automation technology therefore becomes a viable solution to Thai industry, especially the food industry which occupies as much as 25% of industry in Thailand.

Software Park Thailand and Food Innopolis, in collaboration with partner organizations, organized Smart Food Industry 4.0 seminar to introduce food enterprises to the technological advancement in ARI (Automation, Robotics and Intelligent System). Topics covered in the seminar range from digital transformation that will facilitate the transition of food industry from semi-automation to full automation, Thai Open SCADA for Smart Factory 4.0, Smart Warehouse & E-Commerce Sorting and Logistic Solution and 5G for Industry 4.0, as well as demonstrations by companies supplying smart factory solutions in Thailand. The seminar was attended by 200 participants.
