Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Company Limited, in collaboration with NSTDA,  Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation (MHESI) and partner organizations in public and private sectors, organized “Maker Faire Bangkok 2020: THE FUTURE WE MAKE” on 18-19 January 2020 at The Street Ratchada in Bangkok.  Maker Faire Bangkok 2020, the largest gathering of makers in Southeast Asia, featured demonstrations, workshops and on-stage talks, as well as inventions from local and international makers on display across 60 booths. Fun activities included AI car racing, HEBOCON robot contest and the much-anticipated electric parade show.

During the opening ceremony, the winners of “Enjoy Science: Young Makers Contest Year 4” were announced. The theme for this year’s contest was Social Innovations aiming to find innovative solutions to address a wide range of problems in the society and improve the quality of life for the Thai public. There were over 400 entries submitted by students throughout the country. The winning project of vocational student category was Frog Nursery Using Recycled Water and Solar Energy from Surat Thani Technical College. The winner of school student category was Automatic Fish Farming Equipment from Pla Pak Wittaya School, Nakhon Phanom Province. Winners were awarded with prizes worth more than 1.2 million THB, including a trip to a world-class Maker Faire in United States, where makers from across the globe will gather to showcase their best inventions.
