NSTDA and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) signed an MOU to collaborate on research and manpower development. The MOU signing ceremony was participated by Prof. Dr. Suchart Siengchin, KMUTNB President and Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul, NSTDA President.

NSTDA and KMUTNB have a long-standing working relationship with over 300 projects covering research, manpower development and enhancing technical capability of Thai SMEs since 2014. Over the past two decades, a total of ninety scholarships have been provided to graduate students at KMUTNB who are co-supervised by NSTDA researchers and/or industry.

The focus of this MOU will be on research and manpower development to support 10 target industries under Thailand 4.0 policy, especially the areas that KMUTNB possesses strength which are automobile and modern transport, railway technology, satellite, renewable energy, medical robotics, digital technology, material technology and industry 4.0. The partnership expects to produce 125 high quality master’s and doctoral graduates in the first 5 years. This partnership will also incorporate collaboration with local and overseas academic institutes. For instance, two joint programs have been formed with RWTH Aachen University in Germany on Railway Vehicles & Infrastructure Engineering and Electrical & Software Systems Engineering.
