A press conference announcing Space Flying Robot Programming Challenge 2020 was held on 24 February 2020. Space Flying Robot Programming Challenge is a robot contest, aiming to find the best team to represent Thailand in the international competition.
The contest is co-organized by NSTDA, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), in collaboration with local partners such as Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), Drone Association of Thailand and Space Youth Association of Thailand. It is open to a team of 3 students, studying in schools or an undergraduate level in universities. Competing teams will create a program to operate Astrobee, a free-flying robot system created by NASA. The winning team will be competing in the Kibo Robot Programming Challenge 2020 to take place this September at the Tsukuba Space Center in Japan.
