Both biofuel and electric vehicle (EV) play a critical role in the effort to reduce greenhouse gas emission in the ASEAN region, enabling the region to meet the climate commitment made under the Paris Agreement and stay on track to achieve carbon neutrality. To ensure that ASEAN has a clear and balanced policy to address both issues, ENTEC-NSTDA in partnership with the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), Thailand’s Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency and Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy launched a new project to strategically integrate EV into ASEAN Biofuel Roadmap. Spearheaded by Dr. Nuwong Chollacoop, Leader of ENTEC Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Research Team, this 3-year project is sponsored by the ASEAN-Korea Economic Cooperation Fund.
This project is an extension of previous collaboration between ENTEC and ACE in developing an ASEAN Biofuel R&D Roadmap which was conducted under the framework of ASEAN renewable Energy Sub-sector Network (RE-SSN).
