At a press conference on 17 November 2021, NSTDA and partner organizations announced an upcoming event, Health Tech Thailand 2021 to be held on 8-9 December 2021 at Thailand Science Park. Health Tech Thailand 2021 is a hybrid event gathering the latest medical and health technological innovations, as well as importers and exporters of medical equipment and healthcare solutions via an integrated platform of on-site and online exhibition, business matching, workshops and seminars.

Recognizing the high potential growth of health and wellness sector in Thailand, NSTDA joins force with public and private enterprises - including Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS) and the Thai Medical Informatics Association (TMI) – to organize Health Tech Thailand 2021. The event aims to promote health technology by showcasing the latest medical and wellness innovations and establishing connections among health-tech entrepreneurs, health-tech companies, researchers, and medical doctors in order to further develop better solutions to the health and medical service industry.

NSTDA President Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul stated that Health Tech Thailand 2021 is the first event of its kind to welcome international visitors since Thailand reopened its border on 1 November.  International organizations confirmed to exhibit are drawn from 7 economies – Korea, China, the UK, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore - with examples including Mekonglink from Korea, Jiangsu Longhui Intelligent Technology from China and National Cheng Kung University from Taiwan. In addition, visitors will get the viewing of more than 100 latest R&D and innovations from Thailand. Highlights include NSTDA nasal vaccine for COVID-19 which will enter human trial in 2022, Nano COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test, ready-to-use tube-feeding blenderized diets and medical delivery drones.

The 2-day hybrid event will kick off on 8 December with the opening ceremony presided over by Prof. Dr. Anek Laothamatas, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. He will also address his vision and the government policy on health and wellness industry. The program is packed with seminars and workshops conducted by 24 invited experts covering a wide range of interesting topics such as as emerging disease control and prevention, emergency preparedness in Thailand and the Asia Pacific, global trend in health and wellness industry and marijuana & hemp as new economic crops for Thailand.

To offer business opportunities under the new normal, Health Tech Thailand 2021 will take its activities to an online platform available for access and participation throughout the next 12 months. The 3D virtual exhibition platform technology makes the exhibition come to life and offers the 3D business matching lounge that enables chat and discussion with audio and VDO calls.

This event reinforces NSTDA’s commitment to stimulate the growth of medical and wellness industry which is one of the focused sectors in the Bio-Circular-Green Economy national agenda setting the goal for Thailand to become the Medical Hub by 2037.
