Nepalese Ambassador to Thailand His Excellency Ganesh Prasad Dhakal paid a visit to NSTDA Headquarters at Thailand Science Park on 8 March 2021. He was accompanied by Mrs. Tara Sharma, Third Secretary and Ms. Shinakarn Wongbhumiwatana, PA to H.E. Ambassador.
On hand to welcome the delegation were NSTDA President Dr. Narong Sirilertworakul, NSTDA Executive VP Prof. Prasit Palittapongarnpim, and NSTDA VP Dr. Lily Eurwilaichitr. The delegation was briefed on NSTDA activities aiming to utilize science and technology to support the national development by performing and supporting R&D, transferring technology to end-users and manpower development in science and technology. A facility tour to Plant Factory, National Omics Center and AGRITEC Station - a site used for experimenting and demonstrating agricultural technologies developed by NSTDA and its partners – rounded up the visit.
During the discussion, the Nepal embassy expressed its willingness to facilitate and support collaborative activities between NSTDA and Nepalese institutes such as Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) to strengthen S&T collaboration especially in the area of agricultural research. Webinars, workshops and joint research projects were among activities proposed.
