TAIST-Tokyo Tech Virtual Graduation Ceremony 2020 recently took place to celebrate the graduation of its students under the new normal conditions. Thailand Advanced Institute of Science and Technology – Tokyo Institute of Technology, or TAIST-Tokyo Tech, is a joint graduate program between Tokyo Tech, leading Thai universities and NSTDA.

This year, there are 42 graduates from three programs: 1) Master of Engineering Program in Automotive Engineering (AE), 2) Master of Engineering Program in Information and Communication Technology with Embedded Systems (ICTES), and 3) Master of Engineering Program in Sustainable Energy and Resources Engineering (SERE).

The ceremony was attended by executives of partner universities and supporters of the program, including Prof. Dr. Tetsuya Mizumoto, Executive Vice President for Education, Tokyo Tech; Mr. Ryusei Yamashita, Third Secretary, Embassy of Japan in Thailand; Prof. Dr. Pruettha Nanakorn; Director of Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thammasat University; Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., President, Mahidol University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Sae Tia, President, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Somyot Kaitwanidvilai, representing President of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL); Assist. Prof. Dr. Dr. Kampanat Pensupar, representing President of Kasetsart University; and NSTDA Executive VP Dr. Chadamas Thuvasethakul.

In her remarks, Dr. Chadamas stated that over the past 13 years, TAIST-Tokyo Tech has produced 423 graduates, 72 of which are currently pursuing their doctoral study whereas the rest are working in universities, government agencies and industry. Two new programs have been added in 2021 Academic Year, namely Automotive and Advanced Transportation Engineering (A2TE) and Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (AI & IoT).
