NSTDA President Prof. Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, NSTDA Vice President Asst. Prof. Dr. Weerachai Arjharn and executives of regional science parks in Thailand participated in the 39th World Conference on Science Parks and Areas of Innovation organized by the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP). The event was hosted by Cartuja Science and Technology Park during 27-30 September 2022 in Seville, Spain.

During the event, the Thai delegation met with IASP CEO Ms. Ebba Lund discussing potential collaboration between science parks and innovation hubs in Thailand and ISAP.  With over 350 members representing science parks and areas of innovation in 77 countries hosting more than 115,000 companies, IASP is a strategic partner with great potential to support Thailand’s innovation ecosystem and accelerate the growth of Thai startups. NSTDA executives also met with a number of CEOs of science parks and companies from various countries, encouraging them to set up R&D center at Thailand Science Park as a strategy to enter ASEAN market of 700 million population.

Thailand Science Park currently has 110 tenants, 38% of which are foreign companies. With the commitment to provide the best benefit to its tenants, the park recently added new programs such as ConneX – one-stop service connecting tenants to business and marketing opportunities, Inno-X – a soft-landing program for inbound businesses, and TD-X – a center providing prototype development and fabrication service. Thailand Science Park is home of NSTDA Headquarters and its five national technology centers with over 3,000 researchers and supporting staff and state-of-the-art scientific infrastructure.
