Seminar Overview

Antimicrobial resistance is an increasing health problem worldwide with the mortality expected to be higher than Covid19 at its peak, especially in Asia. The advancement of genome sequencing technology and others provides an opportunity to explore novel possible solutions to this urgent problem. Various efforts have been embarked on by several institutes, mostly independently. This seminar is organized for people interested in the topic to share their experiences and information, hoping to promote concerted and collaborative endeavors. This seminar is to be held as part of the “Asia-Pacific One Health Initiative on AMR (ASPIRE)” Working Group on Research and Development. ASPIRE was established at the 2016 Tokyo Meeting of Health Ministers on Antimicrobial Resistance in Asia under the aegis of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan.
